I do not like Germans!

Saturday : 30 Jun '07 - 13:25 | damen default No comments yet | Wikipedia

I just got this from a friend of mine, even though she told me that is was not personal I really have to consider our friendship ;-)

(more)

Visit with Microsoft

Friday : 29 Jun '07 - 07:38 | damen default No comments yet | Wikipedia

Yesterday I went to the small town of Unterschleißheim, near Munich, where Microsoft has its German headquarters.
We went there to visit an interesting business brunch on the topic of Business Process Management (BPM) and Workflows presented by Avanade and K2.

The start of the day was very good, because when I picked up the rental they asked me if we were only 2 people, and then gave me a Mercedes SLK Convertible. Very nice!
But I must say that it has some disadvantages. Because the weather was not that good we could only drive without roof in Munich, and guess what! On the highway this whole convertible tends to be very noisy when driving without the roof with 180 km/h.... strange fact, right?

But still, it was a good presentation and the drive to Munich made fun.... I think I broke a record in time :-p

A good diving weekend

Sunday : 24 Jun '07 - 21:22 | damen default No comments yet | Wikipedia

As I wrote we've spent this weekend at the Attersee in Austria in order to get the new members of our diving team through their diving examination for the CMAS * Bronze brevet.

We went there with 4 students (Alexandra, Claudius, Heiko, Raimund) and 3 instructors (Ingrid, Martin and myself), so we had quite an overkill of diving instructors :-) There were also 2 'normal' divers there, Rupert and Viktor, who just wanted to do some serious leisure diving.

On Saturday we managed to do all of the needed examinations, which allowed us to use the Sunday morning for some more practice with the ascending with a stop in 3 meter. After that we took our students down in the deep waters, where they experienced the cold and empty lake (20-25 meter).

The event was of course finished with the baptism of our four new CMAS * divers. I hope to put some photo's up here soon :-)

update:

I just received this email, it is in German, but definitely the best compliment an instructor can get:

And here the first of the promised photos:

Tauchertauf, here the students are 'celebrating' that they've made it

Diving in Austria (again)

Friday : 22 Jun '07 - 13:38 | damen default No comments yet | Wikipedia

This weekend I will be in Austria again for some diving :-)

This time it is no leasure diving like last time as we have 4 people who want to get their CMAS* certification.

Due to the fact that we have three diving instructors on site it will probably be quite relaxed, and I hope the weather is good enough that we can stay outside the whole time, although the current forecasts are not that good:

Especially the little lightning signs make me shiver, because there is no way we will be diving then :-(

Here a small overview of what we will do:

Übungstauchgänge (mit DTG-Ausrüstung):
1.0 Tauchgang: 6-15 Meter Tiefe / mindestens 15 Minuten Dauer /
Tauchgang.
1.2 „Wiederangeln“ des herausgenommenen, losgelassenen und hinter
dem Rücken hängenden Atemreglers.
1.3 Absetzen, Wiederaufsetzen und Ausblasen der Tauchermaske in 5
Meter Tiefe.

2.0 Tauchgang: 6-15 Meter Tiefe / mindestens 15 Minuten Dauer /

3.0 Tauchgang: 6-15 Meter Tiefe / mindestens 15 Minuten Dauer /
an Bord.
3.3 Demonstrieren der stabilen Seitenlage und der Schocklage.
3.4 Aufzählen der nachfolgenden Maßnahmen, um die Rettungskette
in Gang zu setzen.

4.0 Tauchgang: 6-15 Meter Tiefe / mindestens 15 Minuten Dauer /

5.0 Tauchgang: Mindestens 15 Minuten Dauer / mindestens 1 Taucher
und Tauchlehrer. Tauchgang unter erschwerten Bedingungen
z.B. Tiefe zwischen 15 und 25 Meter, Nachttauchen, Tauchen vom
Boot, Strömungstauchen oder Tauchen bei schlechter Sicht.

So a total of 5 dives for each student :-) Diving diving diving!

Noris ring

Friday : 22 Jun '07 - 10:27 | damen default No comments yet | Wikipedia

I'm sitting in my office and hear a lot of noise. No, it's not some kind of working people outside the window, it is the DTM on the Norissing.

It is actually only a very small track, but nice and curvy

I'm very sure my dad and brother will be jealous of such a good office, but unfortunately I'm not here this weekend so I cannot enjoy this racing event. Perhaps next year, a big "visit the DTM Norisring with Martijn in Nürnberg" event :-)

Some photos to get the feeling:

I cannot tell you how I've managed it, but our stocks are over 100€ currently.... now that's something good. Especially after the whole change of management issue.

p.s. If only I had a lot of those, then it would be very nice!

Car key

Wednesday : 06 Jun '07 - 08:22 | damen default Only one comment | Wikipedia

Yesterday was a bad day, in the morning I woke up quite late and had to hurry for an appointment, but after I got dressed I found out that I could not find my car key :-(
After searching the whole place I had to cancel the appointment and go to work by underground, but in the evening, after I really searched the whole place again I could still not find the key.

Then we went to my office to ensure that the key was not lying there, but unfortunately not...

Thank god at last I thouroughly searched the couch, and the key somehow slipped in it. The next thing I'm going to do is get myself a good set of spare keys.... because my car won't start without the remote control.

Diving in Austria

Sunday : 03 Jun '07 - 11:32 | damen default Only one comment | Wikipedia

Last week was very nice, a whole week of diving in Austria.

For an overview of the dives please see my diving log.

Below some photos of the dives we did at the Wolfgangsee:

Divers in the water, ready for a nice dive in 40 meter

Me in the water in my new drysuit

After the dive, the reason for looking so is the weight of the equipment. The dive was very good

Then here an overview of the area where we did most dives. This is part of the guesthouse "Pension Strobl", who have their own entry direct at one of the best places in the Attersee, called Kohlbaueraufsatz.

At the most left you see the small cabin where our equipment was kept. We also entered there.

We could enter this area direct from the guesthouse through a tunnel under the road !

Equipment just waiting to be used for another dive
