Microsoft Launch Event
Sunday : 24 Feb '08 - 22:06 | damen default No comments yet |
Last week a colleague and I spent two days on the German Launch Event for Microsoft Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 in Frankfurt.
It was quite interesting and there were a lot more people than I expected (7000!). There were several key notes and talks on the new functionality of visual studio 2008, vs team system, sql server 2008 and windows server 2008. One of the most important things for us was to see that we are already quite advanced with our development process and the usage of visual studio team system with continuous integration and nightly builds etc. Always nice to hear that you're on the right track
The next event we'll visit will be the Team Conf 2008
, on which our project is presented as reference
Ice diving @ Plansee
Monday : 18 Feb '08 - 11:05 | damen default Only one comment |
This weekend we finally drove to the Plansee in Austria for a nice weekend ice diving. We left Friday afternoon with Klaus, Lars and myself and arrived shortly before six at the Plansee Camp
where we were met by Udo, who would be our host for the weekend. We stayed in nicely built wooden bungalows, which were heated nice and warm.
The next morning we started with an introduction to ice diving in theory to ensure we new all the backgrounds. Luckily we did not spent too much time with that and soon we were out on the field practicing how we could handle the rope. That is quite important with ice diving, as we would be diving on a rope controlled by a ropeman.
After we practiced enough it was time for the first dive. The water was nicely 4 degrees celcius and the air temperature was about -14 degrees :D :D
TL ** theory seminar
Monday : 18 Feb '08 - 11:01 | damen default No comments yet |
Like I wrote before I spent the last weekend in the town of Buchloe (Southern Bavaria) for my seminar for TL** Diving instructor. It was quite interesting, as I found out that I knew all of the other 4 participants and we had quite a good weekend. In the morning Klaus Cepl, who runs the show, gave us much information on how the theory exam as well as the practical exam will be handled and many of our questions could be answered.
In the afternoon Dr. Andreas Stadler did a quick walk through of diving medicine and also there some deep questions we had developed during our study came up and were answered. We also practiced CPR, handling the oxygen system and measuring blood pressure.
So even through I was not too well that weekend it was really worth it and helped preparing for the big exam in one month

The group with which Manu learns Dutch has an article in the Libelle
Unfortunately they did not print the photo they took, where all the girls in the group are holding a Libelle.
